New Student Move-In Day marks one of the biggest the days of the year at UNO. The annual event is designed to bring new students, their parents, faculty, staff and administrators together, while warmly greeting newcomers to campus.
New Student Move-In Day also officially kicks off the Privateer Plunge, a six-week welcome for new students. The six-week session is packed with events, workshops, parties and presentations designed to introduce new students to available resources and help them get to know campus, all while making new friends.
Volunteers can assist with moving boxes, luggage, mini fridges or anything else into the residence halls.
Bed Bath and Beyond will set up a mobile shop on the first floor of Pontchartrain Hall. Students who forget sheets, shower supplies, etc. won’t have to leave campus to get them, they can get them on the first floor of Pontchartrain Hall North!
There will also be a cookout at 5:30 pm in the Pontchartrain Hall courtyard, with music and a photobooth, followed by a late night, family friendly Improv Show. All new students are invited to participate even if they are not living on campus.
New Student Move-in Day is sponsored by Enrollment Services, Student Housing, Privateer Place, and Student Involvement and Leadership.
